About us

zhuzh |verb| to make something exciting, lively, or attractive.

zhuzh is a luxury accessory brand that aims to empower artisans from across the African Diaspora by facilitating opportunities to create products using culturally significant fabrics and crafting techniques.

Founded by stylist, designer, and educator Keesha Morisma to reshape the narrative of African Diaspora storytelling through fashion. Frustrated by the lack of representation and quality in garments and accessories, Keesha embarked on a mission to create change.

Our mission is to preserve the stories, storytellers, and techniques of the African Diaspora through fashion, guided by core values of preservation, education, service, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

Since our inception, our artisan network has grown significantly. Initially collaborating with 3 lead artisans, we now proudly work with 6, overseeing approximately 30 apprentices whom they mentor and train. We've enhanced their working environments by providing new and upgraded workspaces with essential amenities like shelving and electricity. Additionally, we've invested in modern equipment to improve productivity and craftsmanship. Through our Artisans Workshop program, we offer educational workshops in communication, team building, and business management.
